The Oliver Herbrich Children’s Fund is a young foundation (established in 2010 and based on real estate) committed to the common good.
Since then, it has been active in Africa (in particular in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Tanzania).
Additional projects are located in Bolivia, Germany, Guatemala, Moldavia and Thailand.
Our funding is targeted at the following areas:
Basic existential needs (orphanage and children’s village).
Healthcare (prenatal care, midwifery, supplies of visual aids, cataract surgeries, clean drinking water).
Education (kindergarten and school buildings, scholarships, vocational and academic education projects, computer lab).
Measures to preserve cultural identity and to gain equal opportunities (rehabilitation of child prostitutes, awareness campaign against human trafficking, radio station).
The board comprises the filmmakers Oliver Herbrich and Peter Heller. While Oliver Herbrich has retired from active film work, Peter Heller continues to work in this field and reports regularly on matters relating to development cooperation. We have travelled through many "third world" countries and are familiar with local living conditions.
As independent producers and businessmen, we are also committed to project management and results. We are pleased to be able to contribute our knowledge and experience to the projects. The Board members work in an honorary capacity.
